Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 2 Jason Thompson Hiromu Arakawa Akira Watanabe Books

First off, let me say I generally am not a fan of anime or manga and had purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my younger brother. After flipping through it and getting caught up, I borrowed the first from said brother, then read this manga prior to gifting it. The Fullmetal Alchemist anime adaptations (there are two) are good, however they do not compare to the plot and depth of story in the manga. If you are manga fan (or even if you're not, like me) and are looking for a plot revolving around moral right and wrong, love of family, and the lengths we will go to in order to save them, then this is for you. I highly recommend this purchase, and sincerely hope you take the time to read this series some time. If nothing else, binge watch the anime(s) when looking for something different on Netflix :)

Note: If you aren't going to read it, the "Brotherhood" adaptation is truer to the manga, I prefer the original adaptation.

Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 2 Jason Thompson Hiromu Arakawa Akira Watanabe Books Reviews

Great! My boyfriend loved it ☺️
If you are a new reader looking to buy more Fullmetal Alchemist mangas, don't worry, this volume contains the last of the introductory chapters!
In the manga Ed and Al meet new faces and a mighty foe! There are some dark themes in this novel, and things only get darker as time progresses...
The art in Volume 2 is spotty, some frames have dis-proportioned faces while others contain super detailed scenes of Edwards Auto Mail!
Since Fullmetal is a manga that was released monthly, the chapters are longer and have better shading and detail, I rate this product 4/5 because of its slow start and mixed art
My son's favorite Christmas gift!! You should have seen the look on his face. He loves anything anime, and this is his favorite. He read the entire first 3 books within a couple days. Now I need to go buy some more for Easter. I am definitely glad I bought these.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 2

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the, if not the best, animes out to date, and the story originated from these manga strips and books. Originally appearing in the Shonen Gangan by Square Enix, Fullmetal Alchemist is an immerse story about two brothers and their struggles to get their mother back to life, and also correct their defunk bodies from a failed attempt to bring their mother back to life through the taboo of 'human transmutation'. Science fans and fiction fans alike will fall in love with this manga.

I recommend reading the books and watching the manga side by side to get the most out of the story.
Scar, a new character that kicks seven kinds of butt, is introduced in this volume as well as the tragic tale of Nina. I dare not tell you what happens to Nina.

Ed and Al meet Tim Marcoh who gives them a clue about his research......

This is really hard to review without giving away spoilers

The story is starting to rev at full throttle.....
One of the best series of all time, and am elated that they finally came out with a deluxe edition. It's tough to keep the original soft copys in good condition, so now I can share with friends without worry.
The hardcover editions are great. I'm not sure if I got a misprint or not, but the spine text doesn't line up with the Vol 1. It really bothers me to see this on my bookshelf. I'm disappointed as it wasn't super affordable and I was buying the hardcover versions more for aesthetic as I own two other full FMA sets...
